Sonic Mania: A TRUE BLAST FROM THE PAST PEOPLE IT'S MIND BLOWING WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE EARTHS ROTATION AND HOW WITHOUT SONIC WE WOULD ALL BE LOST AND JUST DRIFT ALONE IN SPACE WITHOUT ANY MEANING???!!!?!?!?!!??!

Okay so lets discuss why this game is important to the Sonic franchise.

Sonic is one of the biggest icons in gaming and yet it seems like people have reached this point where Sonic is either just good or just bad. And due to how cluttered the Sonic franchise is on what type of game it is nobody really knows what makes a true Sonic game. This game for at least a month or two revitalized the series and showed people why Sonic used to be the best in the biz.

When Sonic came out he didn't just contend with Mario, He BEAT Mario. Sonic didn't just come out and say, "hey I'm here to be your rival Mr. Mario." Sonic came out and said, "give me that crown you fat plumber your reign is over boy! Gotta catch up with me if you want to win chump!" 3 main Sonic entries came out and worked on the 2D formula that was close to perfection. But once the 3D era was approaching every big franchise was making the big jump in that direction. And unlike Mario Sonic didn't transition to 3D very well. And he got stuck in a state of continually pushing out rushed and poorly made games. But a team of fans got the chance to make the Sonic game of their dreams. And what do I think about it?

IT'S A MASTA PIECE PEOPLE!!!!!

I never thought there could even be the possibility of a sonic game better that the classic games on the Sega Genesis! But they did it! Everything about the game just works! It's truly a callback to what people loved about sonic originally. Even though some of the levels are repeats from past Sonic games it doesn't matter as new flare and gimmicks have been added to make them feel brand new. The new levels are amazing and very memorable. They all ooze creativity and new life and honestly that's all that required. Sonic's momentum based movement works even better than it did before and is even more fun with Sonic's new drop dash ability allowing him to gain momentum after a jump.  Everything about the game is awesome and if it weren't for Sonic Forces I'd say that Sonic is finally back.
